Laboratory Testing
Medical Laboratory testing is an important piece of the health puzzle. Using various sample options (such as blood, saliva, urine or breath), the information helps Naturopathic Doctors piece it all together.
Recently in BC, Naturopathic Physicians have been given the ability to requisition labs from the provincial labs. For the highly specialized tests that BC labs do not run, there are a variety of other labs that are used. Some commonly used tests are SIBO breath tests, food sensitivity panels, comprehensive hormone panels, adrenal health and stress status, and even blood brain barrier integrity which tends to falter following a Traumatic Brain Injury.
